This battlefield tour is made up of personal accounts of veterans of the "Band of Brothers". Made famous by the HBO series "Band of Brother's.
ST MERE EGLISE - We visit the sites of where all the members of Easy Company landed in and around St Mere Eglise. They landed 5 miles from their Drop Zone. You will learn how LT Dick Winters met up with the other members of the Company.
AMBUSH SITE - visit the site that Lt Dick Winters and some of his men ambushed a small group of German soldiers traveling in horse drawn carts.
BEUZEVILLE AU PLAIN - This is the village that 22 American Servicemen were lost in a C47 aircraft. 17 of these men were from Easy Company, along with their Commander Lt Thomas Meehan.
RAVONOVILLE AND MARMION FARM - Around this area is where many miss dropped Paratroopers landed and joined together, including some of the men from Easy Company. Learn about what happened next.
AUDOVILLE LA HUBERT - This is the site where Lt Speirs shot German prisoners, and hear the real truth about the site.
BRECOURT MANOR - Hear the true story of how 4 German guns were put out of action. Also learn the tactics and leadership that was involved in making this successful.
ST MERE DU MONT - Stand where the famous photo was taken in front of the French Monument.
COULLOVILLE - the site where Colonel Sink had his regimental headquarters, and walk the site of where he landed, and learn about the actions in and around the farm on the 6th and 7th June 1944, and Colonel Sinks famous Jeep ride. visit the First Aid post opposite the farm.
DEAD MAN'S CORNER MUSEUM - experience a C47 flight and landing in a simulator. (entrance fees not included)
THE CARENTAN CAUSEWAY - is the main approach to Carentan crossing the 4 bridges and flood plains.
Hear how the causeway was taken and finally ended with a brave bayonet charge. Lt Colonel Cole of 3/506th Parachute Infantry Regiment was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions.
BATTLE OF CARENTAN - The attack on the 12th June 1944 was carried out by the whole of the 101st Airborne Division, and the objective was to capture this vital crossroad town, so that they could link up Utah and Omaha beaches. You will be guided through the attack following the the footsteps of Easy Company. Visit the First Aid post where Dick Winters had his ankle bandaged, through to the town square where the medal award ceremonies were carried out.
BLOODY GULCH - (13th June 1944, The German counter attack.) After the 101st Airborne had taken Carentan on the 12th June, leading elements of the 17th SS Panzer Grenadier Division joined the 6th Fallschirmjager Regiment to retake Carentan . The counter attack came on the 13th June. Hear the stories in the hedgerows and battlefields where Easy Company fought.
